Welcome to Storied

Storied exists to help people connect. Who you are and what you offer can get lost in a world drowning in messaging. Creating communications that appeal to your audience, helping them understand you and your vision, enables you to stand out, feel relatable to your audience and establish lasting relationships.

No matter what your message, who you're trying to reach or how you want to reach them, Storied can help you tell your story.
Storied: Behind the Scenes
Storied is the baby of Heather, a self-confessed word nerd.

Without a talent that can really save the world, Heather wanted to use her creative writing skills to help others tell their stories. Writing doesn't come naturally to everyone (like running and rhythm doesn't come naturally to Heather). If you're looking for someone to help you get your message across, Heather enjoys learning about each client's purpose, audience and goals, and crafts content to suit.
Writing history
Heather works for a charitable sport and health organisation, where she creates, edits and wrangles content on their website, social media and in formal publications. Her stories appear in front of different audiences on multiple platforms, and she enjoys the challenge of making sure everything the team says has maximum impact.

She spent over three years in a similar role for an educational institution, writing for academics, students and the general public. Prior to this, Heather worked in recruitment for almost five years, writing bespoke job adverts and interviewing candidates. The level of client interaction, customer service and creative writing was a satisfying mix.

And of course, she did a lot of writing during her Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce conjoint degree at the University of Auckland. She majored in history, marketing and management. She has just completed a Graduate Diploma in Communications (Public Relations) to further her understanding of how and why we interact like we do.
Speed dating with Heather
I'm an Aucklander. Well, North Shore born and raised. Hopefully that redeems me somewhat.

As tacky as it sounds, I've always been writing. Whether it was fake women's magazine articles, university essays or rewriting movie scripts with my own characters, I've found my imagination and creativity best manifests through words.

I love sports. Cricket and rugby league take up most of my brain space, but I'll watch almost anything. (Golf is where I draw the line.)

My Carpool Karaoke line up of choice would be Summer of 69, Don't Stop Me Now and Son of a Preacher Man. It would be as terrible as it sounds.
Sportsfreak
Heather regularly unleashes her opinions about sporting issues on the well-known site Sportsfreak. Check out her rants here, and while you're at it, take a look around at the rest of the site. It's full of great sports reckons and quirky takes on current sporting affairs.
